Harmony Methodist Church is a Global Methodist congregation founded in Wasilla in 2024. We trust in the authority of God’s word, hold to the liturgical traditions of the Wesleyan movement, and welcome all who need the transformative power of the gospel. With the worldwide Global Methodist Church, we strive to make disciples of Jesus Christ who flourish in scriptural holiness as we worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.

As members of the Global Methodist Church, we are connected to fellow believers around the world who are working toward their sanctification and transforming their communities. Our denominational structure is rooted in the ecclesiastical authority given by Christ to his apostles, and recognizes that when we are left to our own devices we are more likely to go astray. Our connection allows us to pool our time, money, service, and knowledge to further the kingdom of God on earth.
In addition to meeting for Sunday worship, early Methodists formed small groups called bands and classes that allowed them to “bear one another’s burdens” through mutual confession, encouragement of new believers, and discipleship in the tenets of the faith. As we grow and mature in personal holiness, we strengthen and edify the church. We are committed to encouraging and uplifting each other through prayer, diligent study of scripture, and calling each other to faithful living.

Our services draw on the liturgical pattern of worship that goes back to the early church, including singing our praises, confessing our sins, affirming our faith with historic creeds, and regular observance of the Lord’s Supper. The repetition of liturgical elements reinforces our theology and keeps our worship centered on God rather than ourselves and our preferences. Our hymnody spans centuries, is rich in doctrine, and encourages the equal participation of all congregants.
Though our church body is small, we aim to faithfully witness to the resurrected Christ in our community. We are called to share the good news of God’s love and mercy toward those who repent and believe, and we are called to show love here and now by helping our neighbors in need. We welcome suggestions for opportunities to serve the Mat-Su Valley and are committed to outreach that shares the transformative power of the gospel with all people.
